Welcome back to my blog 🙂
This time I am finally writing about Santiago, Chile, where I arrived 2 weeks ago and will stay here 2 months total. As you maybe know from my Instagram, I arrived here in order to work as a model, not just visiting, but I will of course do as much as sightseeing possible and maybe travel to other parts of Chile. I am staying in in Providencia, a nice and calm part of the city but still quite central.
I personally think the city is beautiful, its a mix of modern buildings with colorful little houses, and there are palm trees everywhere as you can see <3
To begin with here are random facts about Santiago and people here
- Winter here is not really winter I know of
- You can go skiing to mountains out of Santiago and wear a t-shirt on same day in the city
- When meeting new people, you kiss once on the cheek
- Spanish they speak here is different than in other Spanish speaking countries around
- “Cachai” is a phrase they use a lot, and it means “do you get it?”
- They eat a lot of avocado
Hope that gives you a general idea 😀
So far I did a bit of sightseeing and did some cool things such as hiking Cerro San Cristobal and visited Bellavista district. The Cerro San Cristobal is a hill in northern part of Santiago, and on top of it there is a statue of Virgin Mary. The idea of climbing the hill is obviously to reach the top where the statue is and pray if you wish. I went all the way up with my flatmates on a warm sunny day, and the views we could enjoy on the way were spectacular! You can see it all on photos bellow. I also took many photos with my analogue camera, that I will share with you in a next gallery post.
On the weekend, we had a little girls night in Bellavista area which is super colorful and cute, just as I would imagine South America before coming here. Bars have both inside and outside seating, where people are drinking and enjoying their time. There is a passage as well which offers more bars, so we picked a random one and had some finger food and wine. Wine is very important here, so we will for sure do a real wine tasting one day as well.
I hope you enjoyed this small introduction to Santiago. I will write more and share photos whenever I have time. Please let me know in the comments bellow what would you like to read about 🙂 I will for sure do my best to inform you right. And if you have any tips, please share 🙂
