Cacao power bombs

Hey love!

Yesterday I made this gorgeous cacao bombs with a friend, and it simply tasted like heaven. We had some cravings for sweets and this was the best choice.

This is actually the best version of cacao bombs I ever made, super easy and fast (literally 10 mins) and they are healthy and nutritious. If you want a guilt free dessert try this one, you will be happy. As a person which is crazy about sweets and could eat a whole Nutella jar in one sitting, I would say this is equally satisfying. I couldn’t get my hands off of it, finished the whole plate in a matter of minutes. 😀 These are also very good if you need a bit of extra energy before workout.

So the base of this recipe is, believe it or not, avocado! Other main ingredient is raw unsweetened cacao powder obviously. When it comes to other ingredients you could play a little bit depending on your preferences.

Here is ingredients list for approximately 15 pieces

1/2 ripe avocado

2 tablespoons of coconut oil

1 1/2 tablespoons of cacao powder

1 tablespoon of honey

4 walnuts

small handful of raisins

1 tablespoon of chia seeds

4 tablespoons of coconut flour

3 drops of vanilla extract

First put avocado to a bowl and crush it really well, then add 2 spoons of coconut oil, vanilla extract and honey, mix it together well. Then crash the walnuts and slice the raisins in smallest pieces you can. Continue by adding the dry ingredients in the following order: walnuts, raisins, chia and coconut powder. It is important to do it in that order because sizes of spoons you use or avocado size can vary from what I used, and for this recipe consistency of the batter is what matters. You need to mix it all together well, and if it still seems not thick enough, just add more coconut flour because that will keep the batter together. When you reach a good consistency just shape the bowls, top with coconut flour if you want, and let it sit in the fridge for approximately one hour.

Other possible ingredient alternatives are:

  • dates instead of raisins
  • almonds, peanuts or hazelnuts instead of walnuts
  • agave or maple syrup instead of honey.

And now just some of the benefits of this glorious dessert

  • Avocados are full of heart friendly monosaturated fatty acids and fibres.
  • Chia is high in protein to fuel your muscles
  • Walnuts contain powerful antioxidants

I hope you enjoy this recipe, I will be back with more 🙂
